The leopards coming into their lifes had disrupted so many things and privatly Marcus was relieved to have the spotlight taken off of himself for a while . Layla knew the ins and outs of his "gift" whatever she'd wanted to know in the past would of been answered as truthfully as possible the downside to it being he needed to use it or start calling up the dead all around him . It wouldnt be pleasent to have freshly buried bodies climbing over the furniture . Could be why when asked Layla would relent letting him seek work in the city .
He'd called the one place in the city that could even begin to help him find some kind of work , he felt the draw seeping thru his very core the desire and need to start working before he drove himself crazy . The buisness that worked DC seemed almost happy for the outside assistance too much for too few animators to keep up with and free lance work would suit him and everyone else . Even outside in the city Layla , no matter where he went she wished him to feel the leather around his neck a reminder that to most his actions meant nothing but if seen or witnessed by the vampire community it could end up being brought to her attention . Marcus was avoiding drawing any attention to himself he could play at being good for the most part at least . He was thankfull the cold weather meant his wearing of high necked jumpers wouldnt be called into question by anyone at all . The leather curled round his throat was unseen and unknown by anyone but himself .
When all the trouble really kicked off at home Marcus was elsewhere out of the way and lucky for him out of the line of fire incase something went south . He didnt hear or see any of the trouble going down he'd already left before then traveling towards the job flung his way . Marcus didnt like having to go so far but it was the only one offered to him the aminators that worked for the company got first pick of the cases brought to them and could guess would let the outsider take the one right at the edge of the city barely still inside of it . He just didnt know from the second he'd left the townhouse he'd been followed the entire way there . Eyes had peered and watched him as he'd raised the zombie and as always stepped back to let the family ask whatever questions they wanted from it . He could still hear and these things generally always went one way , he walked his circle spilt blood and would call the zombie by name , never changed and sometimes the questions asked didnt seem too either he'd learnt to hear them yet tune them out at the same time .
It hadnt been any different that night and as the family left after their loved one was returned once more to the embrace of the ground beneath them he'd taken a walk around the place letting his senses creep outwards and feel the dead beneath his feet . It felt good to be out there the wind cold and brisk against his exposed skin , now his hands were even covered in gloves the only part of him not was his face . The walk he had taken amongst the graveled paths meant by the time he returned to his car his was the only left there everyone else had the good sense to return home and to the warmth . Marcus seemed to lack it at times , this time it wouldnt be his own fault he wasnt aware of the chance anyone would wish to follow him . His car sat there just where he'd left it parked in the same spot ,it just wasnt in the same condition as when he'd walked away from it . He had to walk around it a few times to be sure he was actually seeing right here , booted foot kicked each tire as if that would reinflate them and repair the distinctive slash marks each piece of rubber bore in them .As if that wasnt enough the bonnet had been forced open , the alarm by passed and as much as he didnt know engines he could see that even if the tires were sound he wouldnt be going anywhere in it .
"Great just ......for fuck sake , why the fuck Me ?"
Words came out spoken to no-one in particular and from his pocket would slide his cell phone free , tapping in a message to be sent outwards * cars broken down , wont make it back home tonight going to find a hotel nearby and catch a taxi back in the morning. * out if impulse he added a kiss on the end of it , again it didnt occur to him to say it'd had vandalised . He knew he'd seen at least one or two hotels on the way over there and message sent started to walk away leaving the car there the bonnet slammed shut again . Leaving he still didnt feel the gaze burning into his back watching every single move he made , he didnt feel the power behind him so heavily shielded was it . Out on the street He'd keep moving to stay warm even with gloves on he would keep hands in pockets to keep them from the bitter cold it was dark , the moon barely visible in the sky and the snow on ground crunched under foot . He could feel the ice under the snow cover the only thing stopping him from sliding around on it , he could see his breath frosting the air infront of him with each breath he took and exhaled . he only paused a moment when he'd pull hands from pockets and shielded the flame from his lighter and lit a cigerette blowing smoke out in rings to amuse himself with . When he paused just the faintest sound of footsteps crunching in the snow came from behind where he stood yet when he turned there seemed to be nothing behind him just empty streets and paths winding there way thru mostly empty landscape . Houses were scattered around but no lights shone from windows the street lights themselves seemed unable to chase away the edges of darkness creeping in around him .A shake of head and passed it off as nothing just imagining things out here alone . He'd start walking again , bringing the cigerette to lips every so often and inhaled the smoke letting it twirl out into the night sky .
Whatever was following him didnt wish to be seen just yet it wanted to stay hidden out of sight , they'd planned it waiting for a time someone would leave that townhouse alone and He had been the first . Taking someone with him to a raising didnt seem to be smart no point rousing anyones ire over unneeded bodies cluttering up the area .he would of argued that point with Layla that the family of the person he raised wouldnt want strangers just hanging round gawping at their pain or their greed which ever it was . Now he was starting to wish he'd not argued and persuaded her that he would be fine alone , the houses on his left gave way to trees a small clearing of them to break up the sameness of the buildings . He saw it only because the rear light shone brightly from the darkness and faint smoke curled and clung to the air . To ignore it or not some would oh so causally walk on by without casting the car a second look .The steps he took brought him closer and even in the faint light he could see its bumper resting against the trunk of one tree and another up against the drivers door . Cigerette was dropped to the ground , his boot stepping on it as he turned walking over muttering to himself about being crazy to check it out . Something made the hairs on his neck lift and getting closer he could see someone slumped over the steering wheel ,dark hair covering the face making it impossible to see anything about them . The door swung open easily and with drivers door seemingly jammed Marcus eased cross the passanger seat and reached trying to see if they had a pulse . The instinct that made him nervous even sliding into the car came back double so a heartbeat before hand would move to snatch at his wrist holding it there in a hard grip one that stopped him from pulling arm back to himself . The fist flicker of fear stuck in his throat made double as someone pressed against his back forcing him further into the car , sliding cross the seat helped by the hand holding onto his arm . Took him a heart beat to start fighting back against the two struggling like crazy to slam body parts into either of them . Never was easy fighting in a confined space and he was out numbered even with the increase in strength he'd gained from Layla he couldnt hold out against two forcing him to be still . he suffered his own bruises during the struggle too many hands holding onto him and an elbow caught his chin snapping head backwards hard enough to cause lights to dance behind his eyes . he tried to fight as a hand clasped over his mouth , a rag soaked in liquid forcefully held in place and he tried so damn hard not to breath to hold it in to fight still but he was still all too human and the desire to breath became harder and harder to ignore .His lungs burned till he had to gasp in a fresh lungfull of air the chloroform soaked into the rag came rushing in with the air the first hit sent his head spinning round and he couldnt prevent his body taking in more of the drug gasping for breath and each one dragged more into his the spinning intensified unable to control his body Marcus slumped slowly in the seat held by two sets of strong hands . Wasnt till he was under totally that they stopped holding him propping him between them . The one who'd forced him in there would rifle thru his pockets and tossed the phone found to the second person , Emily caught the phone already knowing what was expected of her , what her part of the plan would be .

The master of the city barely tolerated the padmas existance within their domain yet stating that as long as Julian did nothing to bring attention to himself they wouldnt question anything that went on there . In the years Julian had occupied that land homeless and others had gone inside those walls and never been seen from , somehow he stayed ahead of the game never once letting anyone know what his kinks were in private . To this house with its wall of brick and stone would be where the car holding Marcus would be driven too , the walls hid a multitued of sins that would shock vampires ,humans and lycans alike if they were to know of it .
It would be there that Marcus , still unconcious and unprotesting would be carried by the leopardess taking inside walls soaked in the countless souls of those lost inside of it .They took him not downwards but upwards to one of the bedrooms and with seeming care Emily would strip the winter clothes that kept him warm outside off , the collar around his throat seen by both of them and a knowing look passed between them . The leopard removed every single item of clothing he wore till only the collar remained and even then they would take that as well , Em holding it in her hand stepping back and letting Julian do the part he enjoyed in this . He was tied hand and foot to the bed beneath him chains of silver attached to the frame of the bed and enough to hold even a lycan let alone one single human .
